Reva teaches comedy writing in New York City at UCB and The Second City. Prior to this, she taught comedy writing at Endgames Improv in San Francisco. Her classes focus on helping writers develop repeatable idea generation tools, strengthen structure, and build confidence in their work.
Her students have gone on to be shortlisted for SNL UK, perform at the Edinburgh Fringe and SF Sketchfest, become writers on sketch teams across the country, put on their own shows, and write their own works in various media, including plays, novels, pilots, web series, satire, ad campaigns, late-night packets, and even a Superbowl commercial.
Before moving fully into comedy education, Reva taught Biology Laboratory classes at the University of California, Berkeley, English in Nagoya, Japan, and tutored during her time at St. Edward’s University. She holds a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification.
Reva was great at meeting students where they are at, whether they’re fairly experienced comedy writers or have zero experience. I found her writing exercises very useful to generate new ideas, and have continued incorporating them into my writing process!
I would recommend Reva over and over again to anyone who wants to improve the technical aspects of their comedic writing while also staying in touch with the playful glee that made them fall in love with comedy in the first place.

Reva did a great job helping me to point [my] improv skills towards creating great hilarious sketches. She was great at pointing out parallels between the two art forms and incredibly informative on how sketch comedy can be structured to work effectively.
I’d never written a sketch before and coming from a stand-up background, found it tricky to work out. Reva was so supportive and encouraging!
The exercises we learned in class really helped evolve my system for writing scripts and gave me a ton of confidence in my baseline. I actually used some of the tools we learned in class when working on a super bowl commercial that I wrote a few months later!
